CYRIN Privacy Policy

We take security seriously and are committed to maintaining your privacy and protecting your personal data when using the CYRIN website. This policy describes the information we collect and how it is used and shared and your choices regarding this information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via this website or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to make a credit card payment.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You may also contact us at any time to see what data we have about you, correct any data, or have us delete any data.

Security

We take multiple precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Registration

In order to participate in CYRIN courses, you must first complete a registration form. During registration a user is required to give certain information, such as a name and e-mail address. This information is used to contact you about the products/services on the CYRIN website in which you have expressed interest. When you are logged in, a "cookie" is used to track your session. A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive to help us improve your access to the CYRIN website and identify repeat visitors. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in with a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

Orders

In order to purchase access to CYRIN, you must provide contact information (name and address) and financial information (credit card information, etc.). This information is used for billing purposes and to provide online access to CYRIN. If we have trouble processing your request, we will use this information to contact you.

CYRIN uses Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. You can learn more about Stripe and read its privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

Surveys and Feedback

From time to time the CYRIN site requests information via surveys and feedback forms. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and anonymous. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of CYRIN learning content.

Internet Privacy

The CYRIN website and newsletter postings contain links to external, non-CYRIN websites. We assume no responsibility for the content or the privacy policies and practices on those sites. We encourage all users to read the privacy statements of those sites; their privacy practices may differ from those of CYRIN.

Cookies

From time to time, we may use the services of third parties and vendors who may use tracking technologies, such as cookies, and collect and store information about you when you use or interact with our services. Like many organizations, this is done to make our website and related services more useful to you. Our servers (which may be hosted by a third-party service provider) collect information about the devices and computers you use to access our website and services. This includes browser type and language, browsing history within our site, operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address, domain name, and/or the date and time of your visit. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your device, used to recognize your device on subsequent visits to our site.

The information generated about your use of the CYRIN website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on servers in the United States. This information is used to evaluate your use of the site, compile reports on site activity for us, and provide other services relating to site activity and internet usage. Tracking technologies may also be used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements, to personalize the advertising content, and to serve you advertisements that are relevant to you.

Functional Cookies

When you use CYRIN services, we may store one or more "functional" cookies on your device. These cookies allow us to authenticate CYRIN users, maintain a user's shopping cart, and provide other features of the site. They are purely functional in nature and are not used for marketing, analytics, or anywhere outside of CYRIN.

Analytics

We use the services of Google Analytics to understand how the site is being used in order to improve the user experience. Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not linked to any of your contact information. You can find out more about the privacy policies for Google Analytics at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

We may also use transparent "web beacon" images in e-mail correspondence, in order to compile statistics on the effectiveness of marketing messages and to improve our web site and communications.

Targeted Advertising

The CYRIN site may use one or more advertising cookies to show you ads that are more relevant to you. We may share this information with advertisers or use it to better understand your interests. In addition, we may use remarketing technology to advertise on other sites you may visit. In those cases, a third party may read a CYRIN advertising cookie on your device to identify your previous visit to the CYRIN site and use that information to serve more relevant advertisements to you.

Your Rights

In accordance with the laws of certain jurisdictions, you may have specific rights regarding the personal data we collect about you and how we communicate with you.

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (“LGPD”), the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), or similar legal requirements apply to the processing of your personal data, especially when you access the website from a country in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), as a consumer in the state of California, or in a jurisdiction with similar legal protections, you have the following rights, subject to some limitations:

  • The right to request information about our use of your personal data (e.g., the pieces and categories of personal data we have; the categories of sources, purposes for collection, the third parties with whom we have shared personal data, and personal data we have disclosed);
  • The right to review and access your personal data;
  • The right to rectify (correct, update or modify) the personal data we hold about you;
  • The right to erase (e.g., delete), anonymize or block your personal data;
  • The right to restrict our use of your personal data;
  • The right to object to our use of, or certain types of disclosures of, your personal data;
  • The right to receive your personal data in a usable format and transmit it to a third party (also known as the right of data portability); and
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, you may do so by contacting us at info@cyrintraining.com or by phone at +1-607-257-1975. You have the right to withdraw any consent you have given for future uses of your personal information, and to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.
